Corgi Trucks
Corgi Toys™ were first produced by Mettoy Playcraft Ltd, a company founded in 1933 to compete with Meccano’s Dinky Toys. Corgi Toys were and introduced in the UK in July 1956, manufactured at their Fforestfach factory in Swansea. The company went into liquidation in 1983 before being reformed in 1984. However, the company struggled with increasing running costs and a change in the tastes of young people and in 1989, the brand was sold to Mattel.
It is the products produced by Mettoy which continue to be highly sought after around the globe, some of the most popular models being of cars made famous in films and TV shows. Corgi’s model of James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 retains the title of largest selling toy car ever produced.
At Rushvic Models, we have only recently begun to stock Corgi Trucks. We currently have a small range of items but that will continue to grow.
